Lesson Policies

Lessons are typically scheduled on a consistent weekly day and time whenever possible. Maintaining a regular schedule helps students develop steady progress and productive practice habits.

Additional lessons may be arranged depending on availability.

New students are encouraged to begin with a trial lesson.

The trial lesson provides an opportunity to:

• Discuss musical goals
• Evaluate the student's current level
• Determine lesson structure
• Answer questions about expectations and study plans

There is no long-term commitment required after the trial lesson.

Lessons may be offered as:

• Studio lessons (University Circle, Cleveland)
• In-home lessons (subject to availability)
• Online lessons (when appropriate)

Travel outside the standard service area within Greater Cleveland may require mileage reimbursement.

Payment is due before or at the beginning of each lesson unless another arrangement has been agreed upon.

Accepted payment methods will be provided during scheduling.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please provide at least 24 hours' notice whenever possible.

Lessons cancelled with sufficient notice may be rescheduled based on mutual availability.

Whenever possible, I will do my best to accommodate rescheduling requests. However, because lesson times are reserved exclusively for each student, make-up lessons cannot always be guaranteed.

Make-up lessons are offered whenever scheduling permits.

Students are encouraged to:

• Arrive on time
• Bring all required music and materials
• Practice consistently between lessons
• Communicate any questions or musical goals

Regular practice is the most important factor in long-term progress.

Parents are welcome to observe lessons for younger students when appropriate.

As students become more independent, limited observation may help encourage confidence and personal responsibility.

Lessons are designed to provide a welcoming, respectful, and supportive learning environment where students can develop both technical skills and artistic confidence.

Students of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels are welcome.

Questions regarding scheduling, lesson planning, or progress are always welcome.

These policies may occasionally be updated as the studio grows and evolves.
